WEEK 1

Teamwork 

In today's seminar, we have formed our groups and briefly discussed what we will need to do for this assignment in order to achieve the best possible results. 

We have set up a group of four, the members whom are Lauren Wilkinson, Jessica Oates, Keelan McCrarren and myself. We have also agreed on a company to base our assignment on; this company being JTI (Japan Tobacco International). We have chosen this company because it is an internationally recognized company which operates on a global scale, and will therefore have a lot of information that we can work with. My dad has also been working for this company for over a decade, so having him as a primary source of information will also assist us in completing this assignment. 

As a group, we have allocated how much time we will need to spend on each different aspect on this task in order to complete it properly by the deadline. We have decided that we will be spending one week on the introductory section of this assignment, as this does not require as much detail and attention as the other aspects. We will be spending three weeks identifying the problems of the business, three weeks on suggestions of solutions, and three weeks on finalizing the information we have gathered and creating our presentation. During this time, we will be scheduling an interview with either my dad or someone else in the business in order to outline and discuss possible problems the business may be facing, and to gather all other necessary information for this assignment.

 Each aspect will have an equal amount of time dedicated to it, which will ensure that we pay equal amounts of attention and focus to each part. 

This is our initial plan, and we intend to stick with it, however, we may also be making changes that would possibly better fit the group as time passes. 

Reflection 

As it was the first week, the lecture and seminar sessions were more introductory, and gave us valuable information about this course. In the lecture and seminar session, we discussed the assignment in detail, with regard to how much it will be contributing to our final grade, and we have also discussed this module, and what we will be covering over the course of this semester. I found this very helpful as it gave me a clear understanding of what i will be required to do in order to achieve my desired results for this course.
