WEEK 4

Teamwork  For the duration of the past week, my fellow team members and I looked at the questions and answers that we gathered and we have roughly begun planning what we will be saying in our presentation.  We have now also assigned official roles to each member. Jessica Oates has been assigned the role of the Manager, Lauren Wilkinson is the Consultant, Keelan McCrarren is the Researcher, and i am the Analyst. We strategically chose these roles to enhance each person's strengths, and allow for the best possible result for this presentation.  We have gathered a good amount of useful information on the company, and we feel as though we are on track with where we should be with this project at this point in time.  Going forward, we will be focusing a lot of our time and attention on finding possible IS solutions for the company, and filtering these suggestions on a trial and error basis, which will ultimately provide us with the most suitable solutions fo...

WEEK 3

Teamwork  Following last week's seminar, i brought the questions to my dad and interviewed him. We discussed what we could around the questions he was able to answer, however we came to the conclusion that we need to come up with questions that are more direct and detailed, rather than asking broad questions that are more open to interpretation. Doing this will allow us to come to informed conclusions a lot easier, and will therefore make the information we are putting into the project a lot more concise and to the point.  As a group, we took all of this information and will be constructing more detailed and targeted questions in the week to come. We will also be allocating each person's dominant role in this week - emphasis on the word dominant, as we believe that we will all be working on each section as a team, and help each other when necessary in order to get the best possible outcome.  Reflection In this week's lecture, we discussed the components of ...

WEEK 2

Teamwork  During this week, our team did individual research on the company (JTI), which helped us get a better understanding of the company and what possible problems they may be encountering on a day-to-day or long term basis. As a team, we used the information we gathered to come up with a list of questions that we will be asking a member of the company (my dad). The questions we have come up with will ultimately provide us with all the information we need in order to properly assess the problems that this company faces, and will allow us to elaborate on possible recommendations that we have for the company to solve it's problems.  We have not allocated specific roles to each individual yet, as we would like to gather all the information we possibly can as a group before we distinguish predominant roles for each person. By doing this, we believe that it will optimize the amount of information we are able to collect, as well as filter out the less important information ...

WEEK 1

Teamwork  In today's seminar, we have formed our groups and briefly discussed what we will need to do for this assignment in order to achieve the best possible results.  We have set up a group of four, the members whom are Lauren Wilkinson, Jessica Oates, Keelan McCrarren and myself. We have also agreed on a company to base our assignment on; this company being JTI (Japan Tobacco International). We have chosen this company because it is an internationally recognized company which operates on a global scale, and will therefore have a lot of information that we can work with. My dad has also been working for this company for over a decade, so having him as a primary source of information will also assist us in completing this assignment.  As a group, we have allocated how much time we will need to spend on each different aspect on this task in order to complete it properly by the deadline. We have decided that we will be spending one week on the introductory section ...
