Reflection During this Easter break i worked on the presentation slides and made notes on what i thought we could change, and added some information that i thought would be useful. I also did extra research on JTI and the way in which they show their concern towards the effect their company has on the environment and i was very pleased with the amount of time and money that the company allocates towards environmental conservation. My team and i stayed in contact over the break via WhatsApp and Snapchat group chats, and we were able to get a fairly decent amount of work done individually, considering all of us had gone away and we were not able to actually meet up during the break. We all worked on our specific individual parts that we will be presenting, and we decided that we will be filming the presentation as soon as we get back to university in order to allow us enough time to edit, adjust and change any parts that we are not happy with. Teamwork  This week, our team has started constructing our powerpoint presentation. We have created the slides and chosen a format, and we are now in the process of deciding what information is essential, and what information can be cut in order to make the slides more concise. We have also now decided who will be taking which part of the presentation, as well as the order in which the information is going to flow best. As a team, we work quite well with making decisions that will make every member happy, and i am pleased with the work we have done thus far. Technology has a very big impact on businesses, because majority of businesses are dependent on technology to make a profit. Teamwork  This week, our team has allocated majority of our time to finding possible solutions for the problems. We have been working on it, however we have found it to be quite challenging to come up with solutions as we are dealing with such a large company with large scale problems. Many of the problems in the tobacco industry are related to the legislation of specific regions; because there may be many rules disallowing smoking in certain areas which cannot be avoided or changed. We therefore decided that adding this to our presentation would be pointless, and therefore narrowed the problems down to a final 4, so that we each have one main problem to elaborate on when we are delivering our presentation. Teamwork This week, my team and i went to the JTI offices in Weybridge to interview my dad again, this time with more targeted questions which helped us a lot as we have now obtained all the information we need from the company in order to formulate our IS solutions. We also had a meeting on Monday after our classes to get an overall view on where we are with this task, as well as to incorporate the new information with the old. Overall, we had a very good, detailed discussion about this task and we are very confident that it is heading in the direction we want it to. We also decided that we are going to meet again next week Thursday to discuss which 4 problems we can create the best solutions for for this company. Teamwork  This week, our team has come up with some more detailed questions which we believe will help us to get the results and information we require. We have also been focusing our attention on using the problems we have already listed and going more in depth with them in order to further explain why they are so problematic for the business. This will assist us when we are coming up with the solutions. Taking the extra time to sort out which questions would give us the answers we desire was a very good move for the team, as we feel a lot more prepared going into the interview with better questions. We are now halfway through the duration of this course, and i am really interested in the information that i have obtained so far. Teamwork  For the duration of the past week, my fellow team members and I looked at the questions and answers that we gathered and we have roughly begun planning what we will be saying in our presentation.  We have now also assigned official roles to each member. Jessica Oates has been assigned the role of the Manager, Lauren Wilkinson is the Consultant, Keelan McCrarren is the Researcher, and i am the Analyst. We strategically chose these roles to enhance each person's strengths, and allow for the best possible result for this presentation.  We have gathered a good amount of useful information on the company, and we feel as though we are on track with where we should be with this project at this point in time.  Going forward, we will be focusing a lot of our time and attention on finding possible IS solutions for the company, and filtering these suggestions on a trial and error basis, which will ultimately provide us with the most suitable solutions fo...
