WEEK 8

Teamwork 

This week, our team has started constructing our powerpoint presentation. We have created the slides and chosen a format, and we are now in the process of deciding what information is essential, and what information can be cut in order to make the slides more concise. We have also now decided who will be taking which part of the presentation, as well as the order in which the information is going to flow best. As a team, we work quite well with making decisions that will make every member happy, and i am pleased with the work we have done thus far.

Reflection

In this week's lecture we looked at the use of technology and the impact it has on business models. Technology has a very big impact on businesses, because majority of businesses are dependent on technology to make a profit. Technology and IT have many benefits for businesses, such as faster, easier production, less manual labour and it also quickens the decision-making process. However, it could also be looked at in a negative light because technology almost always has a bad effect on the environment, and it also reduces the amount of jobs available in the market, which leaves people unemployed. These are things i would not typically think about when i think about technology so i feel that this lecture has broadened my train of thought and sparked an interest on keeping tabs on how technology actually effects businesses.
In the seminar this week, we continued practicing last week's Excel topic on scenarios which i think helped me remember it a lot easier. We also had a look at Pivot tables which are used to quickly summarize a lot of information. I will have to revise this section in my own time again as i did struggle a bit with handling so much information at once.
